Color is such a huge part of the world around us, especially in the world of art and design. I have been a lover of bright colors for as long as I can remember, and almost always find myself drawn to bold palettes when designing and creating. When I was asked, “what sparks you,” my immediate answer was obviously color. I knew it excited me. I knew it brought me joy. I knew it motivated me. However I quickly realized I never took the time to understand why. So I set off to dive deeper, researching color theory, color psychology and color history looking for answers to explain the strong connection I had to color. 

Through my research I began to gain a new perspective about each color and their many different viewpoints. For example purple can be powerful but it can also be mysterious and green can be peaceful but it can also be jealous. Color can affect people in so many different ways based on psychology, history, culture and more. Once I was able to recognize how I personally view each color, my relationship and connection with them became so much more intentional, heightening the excitement, joy & motivation I receive from color as a whole.

After my personal journey with color I thought I couldn’t be the only one who found so much interest in color and wanted to understand why. There are many areas of life that individuals selectively surround themselves in color, such as fashion & decor. However the industry that I thought the user could benefit best from a deeper understanding of color is paint, specifically interior paint. So I set out to create an interior paint brand that uncovers the many viewpoints of each color to educate and encourage others to surround themselves with intentional palettes. View allows the user to go beyond the surface level of visual interest to come to a new perspective and understanding in order to love color with purpose.
