Hello, my name is Kat! While creating these posters I wanted to mix my two worlds, Graphic Design and Sculpture. The heart was created to resemble a sacred heart, a symbol well known within my religion and culture. The heart symbolizes love, passion and devotion, some of the same attributes that link me to creativity. For these posters I wanted to focus on the flame itself, the “light” of my soul so to speak. We all have a light that drives us, whether that be our family, friends or a specific hobby.
My flame is linked to the art that I create. I have known from a very young age that I was a creative and that’s what ignited my spark. As I grew, I learned what mediums best suit my style, leading me into my higher education. Now that I am about to graduate, my flame is stronger than it’s ever been. This was from me learning and creating a new passion for an art form I could have never seen myself doing before. Sculpture is my new passion; I can spend hours upon hours in the studio creating pieces and wouldn’t question the time of day. This hard work and dedication to follow my dreams is what keeps my flame lit.
